There is only one group in this division.

Application Fees must be paid by a separate check, and should not include any MEMBERSHIP FEES. If paying application fees for several students, please indicate their names (this can be done on a separate note). Checks that include Membership fees will not be processed and will be returned.

This Division will have Gold, Silver and Bronze Winners.  Judges reserve the right not to award any prizes.

 

The Preliminary Round: Contestants must submit a video recording of their ensemble in electronic format either via YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive, accompanied by a completed Downloadable Preliminary Round Adjudication Sheet (which could be found on our website under Adjudication forms).  These can be sent to ypcnjoffice@gmail.com.  The electronic entry must be accompanied by a copy of the working score of the piece, which could either be mailed with the Competition Application and the Application Fee or submitted electronically in PDF format.  Recordings that are not properly accompanied with the contestant's name, age, composer, and the name of the ensemble work (no., key, op. etc.) will not be adjudicated.

Judges from the Preliminary Round will make their selections of contestants for the Semi Final Round and for the Recital Final Round.

Semi Final Round: Contestants will perform in a live round in front of judges and audience.  Contestants must bring original score and 2 extra copies for the judges.

Judges from the Semi Final Round will make their selections of contestants for the Recital Final Round.

Recital Final Round: Contestants will perform in front of judges and audience in a formal recital setting.  Contestants must bring an original score and one copy for the judges.  During this round, the Judges will use a numerical ranking system. There will be no written comments during this round.

Judges will make their selections of the winners, and the results will be announced immediately following the Recital Final Round.

 

RECORDING Labeling Information

This information must be included in the E-mail which will accompany the link to your recording 

Each recording submitted to the competition must be labeled as follows:

  1. Performer's name, age and membership number (if applicable)
  2. Teacher's name and membership number
  3. Division name and code number
  4. Composition name, Opus numbers, key, etc.
  5. Composer's name
  6. Performance time

 

Improperly labeled recordings will not be accepted.
