CONCERTO PROGRAM
CONCERTO COMPETITION
Corsi Musicali Internationali Estivi, Festival Musica in Laguna in Chioggia (VE) Italy, will include an opportunity for the participants in the piano programs to compete at the Citt di Chioggia Concerto and Solo Competitions.
SENIOR DIVISION CONCERTO COMPETITION (OVER 16)
Only those students, who perform at least 2 movements from the required concerto repertoire, are eligible to participate in the Senior Division Concerto Gala.
Requirements: Each participant has to demonstrate to the conductor at the first rehearsal that he/she can freely perform this work with the orchestra. If there are many candidates for a performance of the same concerto / movement of the concerto, Piano Faculty and Maestro Pietro Perini will make the final decision at the second rehearsal as to who will appear at the concert.
Winners’ gala: Those participants who successfully participated at both rehearsals and were chosen by Piano Faculty and Maestro Pietro Perini will appear in concert and will be accompanied by Orchestra Sinfonica del Festival di Chioggia, under the direction of Maestro Pietro Perini on July 11th at 9:15 PM at St. Nicolò Auditorium.
Required Concerto Repertoire for 2018:
Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73 “Emperor"
Frederic Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466
JUNIOR DIVISION CONCERTO COMPETITION
Group A: 6 – 12 years old
Group B: 12 – 16 years old
Only those students, who perform 1 movement from the required concerto repertoire, are eligible to participate in the Junior Division Concerto Competition. It is allowed to perform more then one movement.
Requirements: Each participant has to demonstrate to the conductor at the first rehearsal that he/she can freely perform this work with the orchestra. SENIOR DIVISION SOLO PIANO COMPETITION (OVER 16)
In order to be eligible to participate in this event, the students must register by May 15, 2015. They must submit Festival application, registration fee and proposed competition repertoire.
Competition: (open to the public) will take place during the festival, on July 10th, at 9:15 pm at the St. Nicolò Auditorium in Chioggia. Each participant will perform a 15 minute-long solo program which must include one piece from either Classical or Baroque period, one virtuoso piece and one piece of his/her own free choice.
Each program shall be approved by Festival administration in advance.
Jury/ Awards: Piano Faculty Members and one orchestra representative (Conductor) from the Summer International Music Festival will serve as jury members. The Gold, Silver and Bronze winner, will be awarded with certificates. The jury reserves the right to either disqualify or penalize each participant that does not respect the required timing. The jury also reserves the right not to award all of the prizes.
JUNIOR DIVISION SOLO COMPETITION

Group A (up to 12): one piece from Classical or Baroque period, one virtuoso piece and one piece of his/her own free choice.
Group B (from 13 to 16): one piece from Classical or Baroque period, one virtuoso piece and one piece of his/her own free choice.
Each program shall be approved by Festival administration in advance.
